Brunel
Isambard Kingdom Brunel was famous for his many engineering achievements which helped to revolutionise transport in the 19th Century, however some argue that his real genius was in his ability to win over financial backers, motivate his workers and maintain the consistently high standards that led to the success of his engineering accomplishments.
In Brunel House we aim to mirror some of Brunel’s core values and meld them with our own. Students in Brunel house are all part of the same learning family, a family that is determined to be the best they can be and ensure that they are always committed to going the extra mile to achieve excellence in all that we do.
Challenging our students is vitally important for our young people so that they can achieve academically and attain results that will open doors for them in the future, we believe that our young people are capable of great things and drive them to aspire to be their best at all times.
Academic ability and attainment, however, are only one part of what we are trying to achieve, the emotional development of our family and their transition from child to young adult is also one that we recognise as being one of our fundamental goals.
Within their tutor groups we aim to ensure that our students feel at home and well supported. Their tutor group is their learning family and there to support one another, we have a strong sense of community and always look to develop our student’s commitment to helping and developing others, regardless of background.
